Phoumy Bounkeua

Education: Ph.D. in Health Science, Medical University of the Americas
Experience and Affiliation: A medical provider of the inpatient substance abuse at the VA Puget Sound
Health Care System, a primary care provider at the International Community Health Services, and a clinical
instructor with the UW School of Medicine. Phoumy is active within his profession at both state and national
levels. He is a former President of the Washington State Academy of Physician Assistants and co-Founder and
President of the Asian and Pacific Islander PA Caucus of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. As a
medical volunteer with the prestige Aloha Medical Mission, a team member and team leader, he provided free
medical care to the poor people of Laos in several recent missions. The Asian Pacific Partners selected him as
a Fellow in the leadership program for Empowerment and Leadership. He received numerous awards for his
strong leadership, community services and clinical teaching.
