WHO WE ARE
Formed in January 2005, LaoEcon Organization is an independent, non-profit organization created and managed by
a group of professionals and scientists from various disciplines who are interested in advancing knowledge,
sharing information, and engaging in activity leading to the socioeconomic advancement of the people in Laos.
LaoEcon is governed by a Board of Directors, comprising of volunteers of professionals from diverse disciplines.
OUR MISSION
The mission of LaoEcon is to serve as a catalyst for progressive changes leading to sustained improvement in the
quality of life in Laos, through advancing and sharing knowledge and information on socioeconomic problems
facing the people of Laos.
WHAT WE DO
LaoEcon promotes, facilitates, and organizes collaborative studies and discussions in various disciplines leading to
increased interest in and understanding of the evolving socioeconomic problems in Laos. LaoEcon will also provide
expert opinions, reliable and up-to-date information and links to relevant sources. With an innovative approach,
LaoEcon will accomplish its mission by advancing knowledge on Lao issues through open practical discussions
covering a wide variety of inter-related subjects. A collaborative team effort in problem identification, research, and
in developing resolutions and methods of intervention appropriate for location-specific context will be critical in the
organization's specific programs.
